Despite the overall positive reviews, some visitors mention wait times during peak hours can be longer than expected. Busy weekends tend to fill the restaurant quickly, leading to occasional lapses in service speed, though many agree the delicious food is worth the time. One frequent complaint involves inconsistent sides; while the chips generally shine, some diners have noted that mushy peas can be under-seasoned on certain days.
Additionally, a few guests feel that the range of drinks could be expanded beyond the current selection, though most find what’s offered sufficient. A handful of reviews suggested exploring more unique sides or innovative dishes as The Blue Chip continues to grow and adapt to customer feedback. Fortunately, any minor issues rarely overshadow the terrific main offerings that keep patrons coming back.
Staff very friendly and went out of their way to cook a fresh fish 10 mins before closing. Fish was a medium order, was big & fresh crispy batter. Chips were great too. Curry sauce was spot on. Very reasonable pricing, has a new customer & highly recommended.
I don't know what's happened? We've been going to blue chip since it opened and enjoyed it but went this week and the whole thing was another level! Chips were the best chips I've ever had from a chip shop, Absolutely delicious! Soo crisp and flavoursome, hoping the new amazing chips continue and it wasn't a one off!

Ordered large cod and chips, was ready to go. Service pleasent and prompt. Fish succulent and chips were the best we have had for a very long time. Well done.
Amazing chips, just the right amount of crispiness. Kids loved the sausage and fish too. Mushy peas were a really decent portion. Fed 3 of us for £15 👌
Great Fish and Chip shop. Can't comment on the fish. But their chips are always great, freshly cooked. Sides also great. Really happy to have these as my local ☺️! Service is always great too. Priced competitively too in my eyes.
